Articulation Drills

Articulation Drills is a warm, low-stimulation practice game for children roughly two to six years old who are working on a target speech sound. A picture appears, the child hears the word spoken by another child, and repeats it back. A session is three to five minutes: one sound set, a burst of confetti, and it stops before frustration sets in.

Who it is for

The app is built for the gap between therapy sessions. A speech-language pathologist picks the exact sound a child is working on, such as initial /s/, final /l/, or /r/-blends. The family then practises it at home. It is the digital equivalent of the paper articulation cards therapists already photocopy, and it is deliberately not a replacement for therapy, an assessment tool, or a scoring engine.

How it works

Sound sets are organised the way therapy is planned, by sound and by position in the word. Practice is a listen-and-repeat flash card deck, shuffled fresh each time, ending on a celebration screen.

Every picture and recording ships inside the app, so it works fully offline. The words are spoken by Christina Sibley, a professional child actress. Children copy a voice like their own more easily than an adult voice or a computer voice.
